Three members of the Robarts Spaces healthcare studio recently attended the European Healthcare Design Congress in London, from 11-13 June 2018, at the Royal College of Physicians. This year we were excited to not only be attending to learn from others but to also be participating as contributors. We exhibited a poster, titled “Patient-Centered Retail Health in China” in the Exhibition. Zheng Rong and Sophie Crocker also made a presentation: “Caring for the Elderly in China: a contextual case study” discussing the demographic challenges in China and presenting one of our own completed senior living projects as a case study. Robarts Spaces actively nurtures a culture of learning. This is enshrined in our DNA and is at the core of all we do. We strive to have an open and humble attitude to learn from each other and the world at large. In the spirit of nurturing and encouragement, we are happy to announce that this past week, 4 of our designers were certified as WELL Accredited Professionals. As a WELL AP, one is certified to implement the WELL Building Standard and to join the global community of WELL APs in leading the movement to make buildings healthier for all.

Silvia Minciarelli, Partner and Creative Design Director of Robarts Spaces was selected to serve as juror for The Shaw Design Contract Design Awards, held in Atlanta, USA in April. The awards, international in scope, recognize the creative vision of the architects and designers who inspire new ways of living, working, learning and healing. The jury, consisting of ten distinguished design professionals from seven major practices areas, symbolizes the Awards’ goal to place a spotlight on a diverse range of talents and celebrate design in action. Silvia commented, “The event is quite interesting and beautiful. It is an honor to participate in the Awards jury and engage in the rigor and creative debate that emerges when considering each submission.”  Additional information can be viewed here.
