State of the art educational facilities combine here with administrative and faculty offices for the university, and a flexible “Commons” area to support a variety of gatherings and events for undergraduates, graduates, alumni and visitors. Although contemporary Chinese artwork is included in the design, most visual references are to the UPenn campus in Philadelphia, including a duplicate sculpture of ‘Ben on the Bench’, in recognition of the history of UPenn and its founder, Benjamin Franklin.
