Read moreRead lessRobarts Spaces hosted the first event in our series “In Conversation” on November 28 in our Beijing office. The vision of these events is to provide a space for conversations on design, particularly as related to work, learning, wellness, sustainability, community, and culture. This first event focused on “The Design Process”, with participants engaging in five experiential installations, each featuring a unique design project. As teams shared their design journey with collaborators, vibrant conversations emerged. Several participants expressed their appreciation of having the opportunity to observe, learn, and reflect on the creative process of design in immersive, visual and tactile installations, and were impressed by how inspiration emerges and, when accompanied by a spirit of collaboration, is beautifully interpreted into spaces that affect our work, learning, and wellness.

The resulting design takes full advantage of the office’s unique circular layout which provides 360-degree panoramic water views. The flowing lines on the ceiling and the blue, green, and sand tones on the floor harmonize and evoke the outdoor environs’ blue and green sea transitioning to the sandy beaches.
